Chruthaich Julie Fowlis agus Donnchach Siosalach An Treas Suaile ann an 2018 gus luchd-èisteachd a thoirt nas fhaisge air sgeulachd air leth cianal. B’ e pàirt de 14-18 NOW, pròiseact ealain na Rìoghachd Aonaichte airson cuimhneachan ceud bliadhna A’ Chogaidh Mhòir, a bh’ anns An Treas Suaile, coimiseanaichte ann an co-bhonn leis An Lanntair gus 100 bliadhna o chall na h-Iolaire a chomharrachadh. Tha An Treas Suaile a’ toirt sealladh iongantach dhuinn air mar a thachair cùisean ron tubaist fhèin agus ag innse sgeulachdan cumhachdadh mu na thàniag às beò, mu choimhearsnachd agus mu chreideamh.

In 2018 Julie Fowlis and Duncan Chisholm created a new work entitled An Treas Suaile (The Third Wave) which brought audiences closer to a devastating story. The production was part of 14-18 NOW, the UK’s five-year arts programme marking the centenary of the First World War. The work was originally co-commissioned with An Lanntair to mark 100 years since the Iolaire disaster. An Treas Suaile gives a powerful insight into the events leading up to the tragedy, together with incredible stories of survival, community and faith.
