Fèis air an Oir celebrates its 25th birthday this year and where better to host the party than in Strathy Village Hall! The celebratory concert will showcase musicians who have taught and been taught as part of the Fèis air an Oir team throughout the last 25 years. Addie Harper, Gordon Gunn, Carol-Anne Farquhar, Anna Magee and Catriona Macleod will take the lead in creating a programme of music and song which will include many Fèis air an Oir participants who were part of the initial Fèis story all those years ago. The concert will celebrate the success and growth of the Fèis and include arrangements of a number of compositions that have been created for or by members of our Fèis community. There will also be plenty of well-known local songs and tunes within the programme and we look forward sharing these and celebrating with the audience.
Joining the party will be Andrew Findlater, Jonathan Gillespie and Seonaidh MacIntyre of Trail West, a band that continues to be a huge inspiration to our participants since being part of our teaching team. As well as joining the Fèis musicians for a few sets, this will be a rare performance as a trio, giving us some of the band's most popular tunes and songs.
