Chuir James Bauld, sgrìobhaiche-ciùil agus cluicheadair duiseil, fìdeig agus piàna, a’ chiad chlàr aige, Where I Belong, air bhog anns a’ Mhàrt 2023, a’ taisbeanadh chomasan an duiseil fhiodh. Às dèidh dha a dhol gu Sgoil Chiùil na Gàidhealtachd agus air adhart gu Oilthigh na Gàidhealtachd ’s nan Eilean, tha James a-nis stèidhte ann an Glaschu. Tha Where I Belong a’ toirt ri chèile puirt ùra a sgrìobh James fhèin agus cuspairean a leithid siubhal agus aoigeachd. Tha an clàr a’ leantainn air EP a chur e a-mach ann an 2020.
Air an oidhche, bidh e an cuideachd Dan Brown, cluicheadair piàna agus sgrìobhaiche-ciùil a chur an clàr aige fhèin, Rewilding, air bhog ann an 2021, agus Euan McLaughlin air bouzouki agus fidheall, a bhios a’ cluich le còmhlain Valtos agus An Dannsa Dub.

Lèirsinn (meaning perception in Gaelic) is an innovative new piece of music by Lochaber multi-instrumentalist and composer, Ewen Henderson, which explores the way humans relate and respond to the physical spaces and landscapes around them and how this, in some way, is shaped by the imagination:
"The initial idea of Lèirsinn was born during lockdown, when travel was heavily restricted. I found myself taking imaginary journeys to places further afield and, on several occasions, feeling moved to compose pieces of music inspired by these trips. Once restrictions lifted, I made actual physical journeys to these places and wrote further pieces of music inspired by these "real" trips. Lèirsinn brings these pairs of pieces of music together and invites the audience to explore the extent to which our imaginations shape and colour our experiences of the places around us."
For the performances, Ewen will be joined by a stellar line-up of musicians including Megan Henderson (fiddle, piano & vocals), Hamish Napier (piano & whistles), Innes Watson (guitar & fiddle), Iain MacFarlane (fiddle & whistle) and Su-a Lee (cello).
Highland born composer, flute, whistle and piano player James Bauld released his uplifting debut album ‘Where I Belong’, showcasing the wooden flute, in March 2023. Having initially studied music at Plockton’s National Centre of Excellence in Traditional Music, and then at the University of the Highlands of Islands, James is now based in Glasgow. ‘Where I Belong’ features new compositions by James and explores the themes of travel and hospitality. The album follows James’ self-titled EP which was released in 2020.
Accompanying James will be Dan Brown, a piano player and composer who in 2021 released his own album ‘Rewilding’, as well as multi-instrumentalist and composer Euan McLaughlin on bouzouki and fiddle, who continues to release music and perform with bands Valtos and An Dannsa Dub.
Fèis Spè will provide support on the night.
