’S e còmhlan-ciùil traidiseanta stèidhichte anns na h-Eileanan an Iar a th’ ann an Hecla. Le Ailis Shutharlannach (pìob agus fìdeag), Ilona Cheanadach (fidheall) agus Kaitlin Ros (giotàr agus seinn), tha an dreach a chuireas Hecla air òrain is fuinn Ghàidhlig grinn, inntinneach is beothail. Tha iad air pàirt a ghabhail aig fèisean mar Celtic Connections, Piping Live agus Fèis Cheilteach Innse Gall, is tha iad air nochdadh air an stèisean rèidio, ‘Ceòl Ceilteach’. Tha ainm a’ chòmhlain a’ tighinn on chnoc àlainn, Hecla, ann an Uibhist a Deas, cnoc a chithear o Cholaiste Chaisteil Leòdhais, far a bheil an triùir nigheanan a’ cuir crìoch air cùrsa BA (Hons) ann an Eòlas-ciùil Gnìomhach aig Oilthigh na Gàidhealteachd agus nan Eilean.

HECLA is a traditional music trio based in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland. Featuring Ailis Sutherland (pipes/whistle), Ilona Kennedy (fiddle) and Kaitlin Ross (guitar/vocals), Hecla present beautiful, crisp and energetic arrangements of traditional Gaelic songs and instrumentals. The trio has performed in showcases at Celtic Connections, Piping Live and the award winning HebCelt Festival, and on Celtic Music Radio. The band takes its name from Hecla – the beautiful and enigmatic hill in South Uist, which can be seen from Lews Castle College where the trio are currently completing the BA (Hons) in Applied Music with the University of the Highlands and Islands.
