Robert Nairn Ceilidh Band
Tha Còmhlan Cèilidh Raibeirt Nairn air a bhith a’ cluich còmhla mu 8 bliadhna aig tachartasan air feadh Alba agus nas fhaide air falbh. ’S ann à taobh Siar na Gàidhealtachd a tha na buill gu lèir, ged a tha cuid aca a-nis a’ fuireach ann an Glaschu. Tha Raibeart a’ cluich a’ bhogsa, Eòghainn MacEanraig a’ cluich na fìdhle agus na pìoba, Ross MacUilleim air a’ mheur-chlàr agus Ailean Nairn a’ cluich nan drumaichean. Mar a’ mhòr-chuid de chòmhlain den t-seòrsa seo, tha measgachadh de dhaoine a’ cluich còmhla riutha o àm gu àm a rèir cò tha saor aig an àm. ’S ann air traidiseanan ciùil is dannsa na Gàidhealtachd a tha ceòl a’ chòmhlain air a stèidheachadh agus cluinnear seo sa stoidhle-cluiche aca. Cluichidh gach ball den chòmhlan barrachd air aon ionnsramaid agus mar a thèid a thaisbeanadh air an àrd-ùrlar.
The Robert Nairn Ceilidh Band has been on the go for about 8 years now, performing at functions all over Scotland and beyond. All members are originally from the Western Highlands although they now reside between their homeland and Glasgow. The main 4 piece line-up consists of Robert on button accordion, Ewen Henderson on fiddle/ pipes, Ross Wilson on keyboard and Allan Nairn on drums. Like most ceilidh bands the line-up can alter from time to time due to other demands on the musicians. The band's musical influences are deeply rooted in the music and dancing traditions of the West Highlands which can be heard in the playing and choice of performance material. All four members are multi instrumentalists and regularly perform on a variety of instruments.
