’S fhada o bha Loch Abar an Iar na àite àrach airson tàlant ann an ceòl traidiseanta, agus tha na sàr-chluicheadairean seo nan teisteanas air an sin. Tha gach ball den Chòmhlan Chèilidh a’ fuireach ann, no faisg air, Gleann Fhionnainn, agus tha iad mòr ann an saoghal ceòl traidiseanta, cho chleachdte ri bhith a’ cluich aig cuirmean-ciùil mòra ’s a tha iad ri bhith a’ cluich aig cèilidh ann am bothan.
Nam measg bidh Iain MacPhàrlain (Blazin’ Fiddles) air an fhidheall, Colm O’ Rua (Daimh) air banjo, Iain MacMhaighstir air a’ bhogsa agus Ingrid NicEanraig (Cliar) air a’ phiàna. Chruthaichear an còmhlan air sgàth ’s an spòrs a bhiodh aca a’ cluich còmhla, ’s tha fios gum bi do chasan a’ dannsa ag èisteachd riutha.
West Lochaber has always been fertile ground for attracting and nurturing traditional talent and this grouping of musical giants is testament to that. All based in or near Glenfinnan village, the Ceilidh Band members include stalwarts from the traditional music world who are as at home playing large concert venues as intimate bothy cèilidhs.
On fiddle is Iain MacFarlane (Blazin’ Fiddles), Colm O’Rua (Daimh) on banjo, Iain MacMaster on accordion and Ingrid Henderson (Cliar) on piano. Formed for the sheer fun of playing good music together, their unique blend of West Coast dance music will get your toes tapping.
